This is not meant to be a negative post, but I’ve been talking with lots of retail employees as we’ve been polishing the big release of Boutique. [shameless plug: sign up for the mailing list to receive notice when we are ready for launch]
A friend directed me to this amusing (and semi-ironically NSFW) thread about Reasons I No Longer Work Retail. Customers can be both the best part of a retail setting and (in certain cases) the worst.
The image above is from the site footer of camera maker RED. I think its important to contrast that attitude with a “holier-than-thou” air of snobbishness. You want YOUR customers to be happy and we want OUR customers (YOU!) to be happy. I think its just important to put things into perspective sometimes.
