Mobile Barcode Scanning
November 11th, 2008I think this is a pretty cool use of mobile technology. (I really like barcodes)
But its a totally lame move to find something in a store (whose value is clearly in its merchandise selection and proximity) and then buy it from an online retailer (who can undercut prices by having a lower overhead)
The Local Search feature is pretty sweet, but it seems to only rely on online stores close to your current zip code. I think making this connection between great products you find on your own and great products you find at an independent retailer is vitally important.
